Greetings from UGC-DAE Consortium for Scientific Research! The UGC-DAE Consortium is mandated by the UGC to facilitate access to the mega facilities of the DAE like Dhruva reactor at Trombay, INDUS synchrotrons at Indore and accelerators at Kolkata and Kalpakkam.
In addition, the Consortium has developed its own in-house research facilities which are also open to university users.
Over the years, thousands of university faculty and students have been benefitted from these facilities. It would be our endeavour to enhance the synergy between university users and Consortium scientists to produce quality research.
We welcome your wholehearted participation in our scientific programmes and invite you to visit our centres at Indore, Mumbai, Kolkata and Kalpakkam and the new node at Bhubaneswar.
Prof. Kaustubh R. S. Priolkar is currently the Director of UGC-DAE Consortium for Scientific Research, Indore. He is also a Senior Professor at the School of Physical and Applied Sciences, Goa University. He received his M. Sc. And Ph.D. degrees from Goa University. His PhD work on inelastic neutron scattering studies of cerium-based Kondo systems was funded by UGC-DAE Consortium (then known as IUC-DAEF).
His research activities are concentrated around studying different functional materials using x-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy. The unifying feature of his work is highlighting the importance of local structural distortions and structural defects in functional properties of such materials.
So far he has published 136 research papers and mentored 15 students for their doctoral thesis and about 40 students for their Master’s thesis. Prof. Priolkar has several awards to his credit. He was a visiting professor at the Chimie Paris-Tech, Paris, France and University of Duisburg-Essen, Duisburg, Germany.
Presently, he serves as a member of several national level committees including the National Steering Committee of DST-DESY Programme of Cooperation for Petra III utilization.
